The bronze area was a large enclosed, upstairs area with a few chairs and sofas at one end plus a small corridor and toilet. Most teams started from the door and worked around the outside of the larger area, then headed into the corridor. Well done to everyone for clearing the empty end of the large area, as it would have been very easy to expect it to be empty. The first hide was on the underside of an office chair seat. All the teams found this hide in different ways, some dogs pulled to it from the opposite side of the room, some skipped past it first time, and some found only when tasked onto the object. The second hide was inside a ring binder on top of boxes in the corridor. All dogs found this hide pretty quickly once in the area, and indications on this one were beautiful all round. It was a mixed bag in terms of timings, some dogs found both hides very easily, and others got very distracted and maximised their time allowance and needed a lot of guidance from the handlers. Overall an incredibly high standard and a pleasure to judge. I am keen to see how these teams progress up the levels.
Silver area was a partly undercover outside storage area. One hide was near the start on the left in a corner on the bottom of a pallet, the second hide was in n a cardboard tube on the right wall at the top of the search area. Handlers were free to work their dogs either way round, a few that went left first struggled with commitment to the first hide, the second hide dogs worked well from both directions. Over all a high standard and some lovely work

This area was the large barn used for training. One end had lots of equipment stored, the middle divided by pallets and the top end lots of wall and tables and chairs.
First hide was on the floor in some Astro turf in the first part of the search area, the second on the bottom of two big metal doors and the third in a socket about 4ft high, a chair was below this so small dogs had the option on jumping up but bigger dogs had room to indicate at the side.
Again a high standard, only one dog found all three but there was an equal split on which hides the rest found.
Everyone for the door hide, the Astro turf proved tricky for handlers as some thought their dogs were environmental or might pee, however we also saw some cracking indications here! The higher hide was picked up by half the dogs but only a couple worked it to an indication. All the dogs searched the area to a high standard and there was some very good handling.
