Pealies Barn

The venue was at Pealies Barn which is an amazing venue on a farm created for music festivals.  There are a number of different areas that are quite quirky!   The weather was hot and very still.

Bronze -

This was held in the upstairs Angel Bar.  The room consisted of several sofas, tables ,  a wood burning stove,  bar, arcade game and a collection of records.  There were 2 doors into this area, both were open allowing an airflow through.

One hide was located on the bottom right hand corner on the back of a black board on the wall that faced where people started.  The location was occupied by a sofa and a table which did make navigating this area tricker but more than doable.  Not all dogs found this one.

The second hide was located at the other side of the room on the underneath of the woodburning stove. Again not all dogs found this.  Handlers did work well around the furniture, some needed to make sure they had a plan!

This search area began in the corridor near the toilets and included one toilet area.  The corridor then led into a large banquet type room with 2 very large dining tables and benches all round them.  Interestingly at the start of the search only few actually tasked their dogs at the start and got them searching straight away,  most dogs pinged off into the toilets and handlers followed but failed to return to the area if corridor they had missed.

The 1st hide was located just at the entrance to the banquet room on the right hand side in a paper lantern.  As the room went to the left every person and dog missed this on the way in, only 2 dogs found this one when they were allowed back to the area.

The second hide was located at the other side of the room on one of the metal struts on one table.  There was a bench infront but this hide was still accessible.  It was nice to watch the determination of some dogs solving this problem and successfully finding.

Only 2 teams found both hides, but all worked really well and it was obvious to see the dogs in odour and great that handlers read their dogs well.

Looking forward to running more trials here.
